Mats Lindholm writes novels in German and English. Born to a German mother and an American father stationed in Germany with the U.S. military, he grew up bilingual. At sixteen his family relocated to Maine, and later he settled on a farm in Austria, where he lives and writes today.
His work moves between two languages and the landscapes they carry — the inland pine of New England and the limestone contours of the Austrian Alps, the quiet of a farmhouse and the restlessness of a life split between worlds.
